I was so proud to present my Outdoor Education Bill to parliament today.

There isn’t a subject on the curriculum that can’t be enhanced by outdoor learning - the Fibonacci sequence is seen in the petals of a flower, the scales of a pine cone and the seeds of a sunflower.

But this bill isn’t just about finding new ways to educate our children.

It is about reengaging them with nature, with understanding the world around them and their part in it.

We cannot sit idly by and watch the amount of time young people spend outside drop through the floor.

For the mental health and wellbeing of our children, we must act.
