That under the government’s early release scheme, their perpetrators might be released soon.

One of my colleagues shared the story of a vile individual responsible for decades of sexual abuse who could be released after serving just five years of a 30-year sentence for sexual assault, rape and processing indecent images.

𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞.

Given the government is including them, I asked the Minister how confident he was that the Probation Service is adequately resourced to monitor these awful perpetrators.
