I presented my petition on coastal erosion at Start Bay last night – you can watch it here.

The fights, underfunding, private profiteering, persistent absences, and overall failings that have plagued our SEND system for too long cannot continue.

In parliament later, I’ll be presenting my petition on coastal erosion at Start Bay – but before I do, let me say a massive thank you to the businesses and residents who’ve been busy collecting signatures. Parliament is in recess this week, giving MPs a chance to spend time in the constituency and take a breath after a turbulent time in Westminster.

I had a great time at Slapton Sands this morning helping FSC Slapton Ley Field Centre with their beach clean. Thanks to the recent storm weather, lots of litter has appeared along Slapton Sands and around Slapton Ley Nature Reserve. Armed with a litter picker, I got to work. There was plenty of fishing wire hidden amongst the seaweed, strips of plastic, even a comb! Thanks FSC Slapton Ley Field Centre for organising.

The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for Beesands, Torcross and Slapton for tomorrow morning during the high tide period.
