Watch my speech calling for the Government to abolish the two-child benefit cap

Poverty robs children of their future. It limits their life chances, impacts their long-term health, and reduces their ability to participate in the parts of childhood that widen their experience.

We may live in a beautiful part of the world, but there are children in South Devon living in poverty.

This week, I called on the Government to abolish the two-child benefit cap. Not only is it the most effective way to life hundreds of thousands of children out of poverty, but it reduces strain on our public services, boosts community, and is the morally right thing to do.
