Watch my question to the PM about joining the campaign to open a banking hub in Totnes

Today, I finally had the opportunity to ask the Prime Minister about opening a banking hub in Totnes, and I am very pleased with the response.

Responding to an earlier question, the PM had said that banking hubs can be “rolled out wherever a community needs one.” I asked if that extends to Totnes and if he will join my campaign, as over 1,100 of you already have, to open a banking hub in the town.

Earlier this week, I met with LINK where they again said Totnes does not qualify for a banking hub, citing nearby hubs in Dartmouth and Brixham, other bank branches in Paignton, and the availability of free-to-access-ATMs and the Post Office.

This was a disappointment, but I’m feeling very positive following the PM’s response. I’ll continue pursuing this with the relevant Minister to keep up the great momentum we are building.
