Watch my question to the Home Secretary about immigration

Today, the Home Secretary announced a suite of new policies to clamp down on immigration, continuing a trend seen throughout the summer of the Government reacting to Reform.
The national conversation on immigration and asylum is being dominated loudly by politicians who have a track record of stirring up division, dehumanising people seeking sanctuary, and claiming that a single quick fix will magic the problem away.
Who could forget, during the 2016 referendum, Nigel Farage claimed that staying in the EU would make immigration numbers worse. Nine years on, having left the EU, ended free movement, and done everything else Farage could have dreamed of, the situation is worse than ever.
Our immigration numbers are too high and unsustainable. I am completely sympathetic to the worried constituents who raised this crisis with me during my summer surgery tour last month.
But, as I highlighted to the Home Secretary this week, the architects of the Brexit campaign are probably the least likely people to have the answer to stopping small boat crossings.
