Allies do not attack one another: militarily or economically.
In just a few days, Starmer’s US policy has been ripped apart. He now needs to stand up, not stand back.
Trump is punishing the UK and NATO allies just for doing the right, sane thing.
Under a 1951 agreement, the US already enjoys sweeping military access in Greenland and can increase its presence almost at will.
Evidence also shows Russian and Chinese ships are more prevalent on the Alaska side of America’s coast, not near Greenland.
Trump says owning Greenland is “psychologically important” to him. He also said losing the Nobel Peace Prize is a motivating factor.
Make no mistake, this is not about security or strategy.
It is time for the PM to stand firm against the bully in the White House and work with European and Commonwealth allies to make him back down from this reckless plan.
