Watch my question on when the government will respond to the Hughes Report

February marked the two-year anniversary of the publication of the Hughes Report, which set out clear and compassionate recommendations for redress for those affected by the sodium valproate and pelvic mesh scandals.

In those two years, the government has not provided a response. In fact, they admitted last month that there was no timetable to provide compensation for victims.

This is unacceptable.

Today, I pressed the Prime Minister on when the government will respond. Disappointingly, he couldn’t say.

Offering his sympathy is one thing, but victims have been waiting decades for justice. They deserve better.
