Watch my question on the humanitarian crisis in Sudan

The city of El Fasher in Sudan fell to the Rapid Support Force last week after a lengthy siege which saw the militia group build an earthen wall around the city, trapping those inside who faced daily attacks and mass starvation.

What has followed since the city’s fall is a catastrophe.

Mass killings are underway that are so severe the blood can be seen from space. War monitors have compared the pace of death to the start of the Rwandan genocide.

Across Sudan, 30.4 million people – more than half the population – need aid, making it the largest humanitarian crisis since records began.

This week, I asked the North Africa Minister if the Government would increase the UK’s development aid budget to fund our response to the crisis occurring in Sudan.
