Did you know the Dutch Government recently sent a 33-page booklet on emergency preparedness to every home in the country, telling people what to do in a crisis?
In our increasingly uncertain world, it is essential every government gives the public the tools and advice needed to get through an emergency.
Recent incidents in South Devon – like the gas outage in the Kingsbridge or Storm Ingrid and Chandra - show how vulnerable households can be when essential services are disrupted.
The Government cannot rely on people looking at the gov.uk website.
They need to consider a personalised nationwide information campaign to help people prepare.
