Last month was the hottest January on record, and throughout it, I received multiple emails from constituents concerned that the Government is rolling back on its climate commitments.

While I understand the Government’s prioritisation of growth, the greenlighting of a new runway at Heathrow was the wrong move. If it even happens, it’ll still be decades until we see value from it.

But it sends a concerning message, which – when combined with the rumoured Rosebank oil field and the tanking of the Climate and Nature Bill – has left many of you worried about the Government’s direction on climate.

Today, I asked the Government what steps it was taking to reduce our reliance on oil and gas, particularly when it comes to our home usage.
