Watch my question on addressing the shortfall in rural transport funding

I’m incredibly disappointed to not even get the hint of an answer from the Local Transport Minister for my question on rural transport today.

The Government is showing yet again that they have next to no appreciation for how vital reliable, well-funded transport is for rural areas like ours.

Since the election, there’s been plenty of new funding announced for transport and infrastructure projects in the North, but very little for rural areas like South Devon.

If the Minister had fully engaged with the question, he’d have heard that just a million pounds of investment could make a transformational difference. That’s a fraction of the billions of pounds going to city regions, many of which already have well-established transport links.
