Watch my question about rural mental health

My reaction says it all!
I was asking the Minister what steps the government is taking to support the distinct mental health challenges faced by agricultural workers and people living in rural areas.
It was a pity she didn’t address this at all in her answer.
But then that isn’t surprising. This government doesn’t ‘do’ rural, does it?
It doesn’t recognise the challenges nor fund the provision, despite research making the situation clear.
Rural populations face disproportionately higher rates of mental health struggles compared to urban areas, fuelled by isolation and sparse services.
The government cannot continue being blind to rural challenges. I’ll continue pressing to wake them up!
