𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲, 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐.𝟕% 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐊 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞.

Poor and temporary housing is a key driver of poverty and unfreezing the allowance could lift thousands of children out of acute deprivation.

𝐒𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩? 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞.
