I must admit I’m unconvinced by the Minister’s answer here. It only adds to the feeling that the South West is an afterthought for this government.
The Prime Minister wants good growth in every postcode.
But what do those words mean without a clear growth plan for every region in the UK?
The Chancellor’s speech this week, his first since taking the role, promised investment in the North while making no mention of the South West.
It should be obvious, but to deliver good growth in every region, you need to actually talk about every region in the UK. And that includes the parts of the South West which are beyond Bristol!
