Having long campaigned for proper neighbourhood policing, my Liberal Democrat colleagues and I were pleased to see the Government announce its Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee.

This guarantee will see an extra £500m go into neighbourhood policing to help build trust between local forces and the community they serve – something that is so important!

Such changes cannot come soon enough, so, today, I asked the Policing Minister how the new Guarantee will be implemented and further steps that the police could take to connect with their communities.
