Today, I again reiterated my calls for the Devon Integrated Care Board to reconsider its proposed move of out-of-hours coronary care from Torbay to Exeter.
In a cardiac episode, time is everything. Yet these changes could add more than 45 minutes to the ambulance time for those coming from areas like Dartmouth and Brixham.
Clearly, this move is going to put more people in critical danger. Ten members of Torbay Hospital’s cardiology team expressed serious concerns to me and my fellow South Devon MPs about this move at a meeting last month.
Along with my South Devon MPs, I’ll continue fighting for the ICB to reverse this incredibly ill-thought-out idea.
