Steve Darling MP, our spokesperson for Work and Pensions, has written to the Secretary of State highlighting the injustice faced by women born in the 1950s, following the WASPI out-of-court settlement on 2 December 2025.
The letter calls for a full review of the evidence relating to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman’s investigation and urges the Government to reconsider compensation for affected women. It acknowledges that the initial decision not to compensate WASPI women was flawed and stresses the need to restore public confidence in the independent bodies that hold the executive to account.
I am proud to have signed this letter along with colleagues, standing up for fairness and justice for women born in the 1950s.
