Labour came into office under a mantra of change, but when it comes to health services in South Devon, all they’ve delivered is more of the same.

The launch of a time-limited voluntary redundancy scheme by Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust cannot be separated from this, and I have written to the Health Secretary to express my deep alarm.

Today’s announcement is worrying, leading to yet more pressure on hardworking professionals who do an incredible job while seeing their teams diminishing.

The immense financial strain Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is unsustainable, and the government must step up to deliver a health service patients and staff deserve.
