My statement on Israeli attacks on the Global Sumud Flotilla

I am appalled by the Israeli drone attacks on the Global Sumud Flotilla, which occurred in international waters south of Greece.
These attacks targeted civilian vessels carrying vital humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza who are facing desperate suffering, starvation, and the horror of daily bombardments. The attacks deliberately obstructed the delivery of essential supplies, and while no injuries were reported, the threat to civilians and aid workers was clear.
The world is watching in horror, and yet humanitarian efforts are targeted and blocked. Gaza’s people are enduring unimaginable hardship. Actions like this only deepen their suffering. We cannot stand by while civilians are denied food, medicine, and the most basic support.
I call on the UK Government to urgently:
- Demand an immediate end to attacks on civilian and humanitarian vessels
- Work with the international community to investigate and hold accountable those responsible for war crimes
- Press for safe, unimpeded access to humanitarian aid for Gaza’s population
The people of Gaza cannot wait, and the world must not remain passive in the face of these ongoing atrocities. We must stand unequivocally for human rights, international law, and the protection of innocent civilians.
You are fully supported in this, and I commend your stand.
The world needs to get over its hang ups from WW2 and treat Israel like any other nation whose leadership has gone off the rails. Maximum pressure needs to be applied to the US administration without whose support Israel could not function. Europe needs to act together to close down any economic, military and trading benefits that Israel currently benefits from.
Israel’s leadership both political and military needs to be held to account and brought to trial at the earliest opportunity.
I agree totally with your sentiments... but surely we've had enough platitudes from the UK & other countries.
How can we do anything that will actually STOP the genocide in Gaza,? Perpetuated by the genocidal maniacs: Netanyahu & Trump???? I'm 80 now...and I have to say the state the whole world now is beyond anything I ever imagined would be in my lifetime. History is definitely repeating itself and It's truly horrific.
