My statement after Israel launches 'powerful' strikes on Gaza

Weeks ago, the Prime Minister promised the UK would lead the rebuilding of Gaza. Now, with the ceasefire falling apart, we cannot afford to watch events unfold around us once again.

President Netanyahu has ordered the military to immediately carry out “powerful” attacks in Gaza. This will likely end the fragile truce of recent weeks.

Even during this time, Israel has severely restricted aid, and hundreds of Gazans have been either wounded or killed by the IDF.

The United Nations and the guarantor parties of the peace deal, including the US and UK, must urgently intervene to ensure this does not happen.
