Kings Ash and Collaton St Mary secure Pride in Place funding

I’m really pleased to hear that Kings Ash and Collaton St Mary are to be awarded £20 million from the government’s Pride in Place funding, which replaces the previous Plan for Neighbourhoods programme.

I look forward to receiving more details and working with local organisations and councillors to ensure this money makes a tangible difference to the lives of local residents.

Investment in disadvantaged areas is to be welcomed, especially in places that are often overlooked in broader national funding schemes.

Countless communities across the UK are struggling after years of economic mismanagement by the Conservative party and are being held back by some of the early policies announced by the current Labour government.

If this government is truly committed to local regeneration, it must address the massive burdens holding back all our high streets - by scrapping the unfair National Insurance jobs tax that disproportionately hits small businesses and the hospitality sector, and fixing the broken business rates system.
