I couldn’t be more thrilled to share that I’m taking part in Strictly Rowcroft this year!
I love watching Strictly, so I was really excited to be invited to take part in this challenge. But it's been quite a few years since I donned proper dancing shoes, so it's also nerve-wracking!
Politicians have had mixed fortunes on Strictly - some have fared rather better than others... I just hope I'll be able to hold my head up high after the final on-stage performance!
But this competition isn’t just about dancing. Its purpose is to fundraise for a very special and important cause.
Rowcroft does vital work in our community, but like other hospice providers, it suffers from years of chronic underfunding. Across the UK, a fifth of hospices are cutting services due to costs, and two thirds of adult hospice income is now raised through public fundraising, like Strictly Rowcroft.
I’ll keep you all updated on my training in the coming weeks, and I hope to see many of you at the live show at the Princess Theatre in May.
