I was thrilled to co-sign a letter urging the Government to re-establish a Youth Mobility Scheme between the UK and EU.

I spoke about the vital need to restore such a scheme at our party conference back in the autumn.

It’s been deeply disappointing that despite promising closer ties with the EU, a Youth Mobility Scheme appears to be off the table now.

Our young people, small businesses, artists, and exporters are missing out on so many opportunities in its absence.

We already have such schemes with Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. We need one with our closest neighbour!
