Fantastic news! NHS Devon scrap planned coronary care changes

Fantastic news! NHS Devon has listened to cardiologists, patients, MPs, and you, and has shelved its plans to move emergency coronary services from Torbay to Exeter.

Thank you to all of you who’ve contacted me about this and campaigned so hard to highlight to NHS Devon the dangers posed by their ill-thought-out plan.

NHS Devon are, essentially, going back to the drawing board to create a broader vision for cardiology services across Devon. While we await details on this, I’ve been assured it will be shaped partly through clinical insight and stakeholder engagement, something that should have shaped the plans from day one.
