A visit to Bantham Estuary

Thanks to oyster farmer Tim Edwards for showing me his farm on the Bantham Estuary. So many questions about oysters! How they grow, how they reproduce…

They are doing good work filtering nitrates from the water and securing carbon - and will go up to Porlock in Somerset for a month before being sold. Why? Because our water here isn’t clean enough to sell straight from this farm… another sad indictment of the state of our rivers.
