Remembering those who paid the ultimate price


It must be one of the best located war memorials in the country.

Honoured to lay a wreath on behalf of the Lib Dems this morning at Brixham war memorial, and to march behind former servicemen and women.

Remembering all those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom, and thinking of those who are at war today, especially in Ukraine.

Remembrance day holds special meaning for me. My grandfather was killed in WW2 in north Africa and is buried at El-Alamein. He paid the ultimate price, far too young.

Trooper Francis Smith, 6th, Royal Tank Regiment, R.A.C., died on 22 July 1942 Age 30.
