It was a real pleasure to meet Rose and Dean this week, who give up so much time and love to make these flowerbeds look so incredible.
Rose has spent years - and much of her own money - planting and tending these beds. As someone who would love to have a flower garden but just has slug eaten disasters instead, I am truly impressed by this display!
And Dean’s wooden model of a ship to commemorate Upham’s boatyard, on which these gardens sit, is a delight.
The old timbers come from Pilgrim, launched at this spot in 1895 and still in use today.
It is a wonderful tribute to Brixham’s maritime history.
This week the gardens were judged by the RHS for their South West in Bloom competition. Good luck Rose!!
